    Clemenza Law Group

    How we work

Whatever you bring us: a trademark, a formation, a contract, a visa petition, or a standing role as your counsel: the engagement runs the same way. This page sets out how it starts, where the work lives, what you receive, how your information is held, and what happens when a matter is outside our practice.

Who you will be working with

Anthony Clemenza, managing partner, oversees every matter from the first call to the closing letter and stays involved throughout. Where others work on your matter: a paralegal, or counsel we bring in for a question outside our practice: you are introduced to them, and the responsibility stays with him. There is no account manager, and no file that goes quiet.

New inquiries are acknowledged within one business day.

    Getting started

    How an engagement begins

Four steps, the same for every client. No work starts before the conflict check and the engagement letter are both complete, and the figure in that letter is the one that binds.

    1. 01

      A short first conversation

A call to understand what you need and to say plainly whether we are the right firm for it. New inquiries are acknowledged within one business day.

    2. 02

      Conflict check

Before any engagement we check that acting for you conflicts with no one we already act for. It runs for every client we take on, without exception.

    3. 03

      A written engagement letter

Plain English. It states what we will do, what it will cost, and what is outside it. The figure in that letter is the one that binds, and no work starts before it is signed.

    4. 04

      The work begins

What that looks like depends on which door you came in through.

    On a defined-scope matter

On a defined-scope matter (a trademark, a formation, a contract) the letter states the scope and the fee, and the work runs to that scope. If the matter changes, the additional scope and fee are explained before you decide whether to proceed.

    Every published fee

    On a General Counsel plan

On a General Counsel plan, the first month is the Legal Health Check: a review of what you already have and a prioritized 90-day roadmap. The monthly cadence begins from there.

    The client portal

    Where the work lives

Every client has a private portal built for this firm: each matter and where it stands, every document in one place, every invoice before it is due, and a direct line to your attorney that does not fan out across inboxes. You can try it before you sign.

The client portal dashboard: a greeting, a card naming your counsel with a secure-message button, one line on where your matters stand, and a plain-language stage track for a financing
The dashboard, exactly as a client sees it. The client and matters shown are fictional.

You always know where your matter stands

A milestone rail for each matter, in plain language rather than docket shorthand, updated as the work moves.

Your documents live in one place

A private vault scoped to you. Not an email thread, and not a shared drive with a link that outlives the engagement.

    Signing is tamper-evident

Documents are rendered and hashed on our server before they reach you, and the signing page shows that hash. If the text changed after it was sent, the system refuses the signature rather than recording it.

    Billing is never a surprise

Invoices, what they cover, and what has been paid: visible before they are due.

    Messages stay with the matter

A direct channel to your attorney inside the client workspace, rather than an email thread that fans out across devices and inboxes.

    Access is protected

Row-level database isolation per client, and mandatory two-factor authentication on every firm-side account.

    In writing

    What you receive

Every matter produces the same three things in writing. A General Counsel plan adds a monthly rhythm on top. Nothing on either list depends on you asking for it.

    On every matter

    • A written scope before the work starts

The engagement letter says what is included and what is not, so there is nothing to reconstruct later from memory.

    • The work itself, in the portal

Drafts, filings and signed documents are delivered to your private vault, with the matter's status beside them, not scattered across an email thread.

    • A closing letter

Every matter ends in writing, stating what was done and how long we keep your file. No matter simply goes quiet.

And on a General Counsel plan

    • A monthly usage summary

What we worked on, what it consumed against your hours, and what is open going into next month.

    • Strategy sessions

A working session on what is ahead rather than what has happened: fundraising, hiring, contracts coming up for renewal. Quarterly on Essential, monthly on Professional and above.

    • An annual document refresh

Your templates, policies and standing agreements re-read against the law as it now is, not as it was when they were drafted.

    Security

    How your information is held

Only claims that are true of the system as deployed. Isolation is enforced by the database rather than by application code, and the controls below are verified as part of every release.

    • Row-level security on every client-facing table: isolation enforced by the database, not by application code.

    • Mandatory two-factor authentication on firm-side accounts, enforced server-side as well as in the browser.

    • Private document storage scoped to the owning client; documents are not served from public URLs.

    • An append-only audit log of privileged actions.

    • Documents hashed at issuance, with the hash re-verified at signing before a signature is recorded.

    • Encryption in transit and at rest, with a strict content-security policy and bot protection on public forms.

    Everything else

Whatever the matter, bring it to us first

An injury, a lease, a visa, a divorce, a dispute at work. If it is outside our practice, we introduce you personally to a lawyer who handles it every day, and we oversee the matter as your firm. You never leave with a name and nothing else.

    1. 01

      You tell us what happened

One conversation, whatever the matter. If it is ours, we take it. If it is not, you leave the call knowing who will handle it and why.

    2. 02

      We choose the lawyer

Not a directory: a person we know, who handles this exact kind of matter every week, and who we would send our own family to.

    3. 03

      We stay involved

We make the introduction ourselves, we oversee the matter as your firm, and you always have someone to call who already knows you.
